Everblue by Maggi McDonald

Some people have a certain colour connected to them, so many of my favourite people make me think of the colour blue. People and memories of water and the sea, of holidays and happy days spent together..I heart blue, forever and ever…it is the colour of the ocean and the colour that brings calm to my soul…

I am really loving creating this series of abstract beachscapes and landscapes.

I’ve given myself the freedom to play and experiment in the studio and this has been an intensely satisfying excercise and a fresh new direction for my art. The interesting thing is that I am using the same tools, paint and colours with the results being so different yet still very familiar to my original style. These artworks are created with thick layers of paint and a palette knife.

Acrylic on hand stretched canvas.

Created in my Sydney studio X
