Face of Fragments by Susanne Bianchi.

Face of Fragments is a portrait built from memory, emotion, and material. A fusion of reclaimed wood, collage, and found objects, each fragment contributes to a deeper narrative—one that explores identity through layers of texture, colour and form. The piece invites viewers to find connection in contrast, and beauty in the unexpected.

The artist’s body of work is governed by her mission to reassign meaning to materials that have outlived their perceived purpose. Susanne works with reclaimed wood and other items to produce three dimensional pieces of art that may remind the viewer of personal experiences.

She gathers pieces to tell a story.  She maneuvers the shapes and texture of the various pieces with the aim to elicit an interesting and pleasing piece.

Some of the timber remains in its natural state, while others are stained or covered in her collage papers. For further interest she added a few pieces of jewelry, washers, dominoes, buttons etc.  Each element is securely adhered to a timber-framed board, creating a rich, textured assemblage. Over 190 pieces were used in total.

Face of Fragments comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The assemblage is framed and ready to hang or can easily sit on a shelf.
