Fallen Woman by Kim Rees – bisque fired hand sculpted female head on Australian hardwood stand.

Hand built in fine sculptural clay and bisque fired.

The earthy natural finish of bisque fired only gives a more classical feel, offset by the abstracted hair. Fallen woman, the title of this piece is literal. Just completed as a from the knees up, tall and quite detailed in the body figurative sculpture, she had started the drying process. Unluckily a gust of wind caught her and hearing a great crash, knew immediately what had befallen a weeks work. Incredibly the head remained largely intact (along with 2 arms and hands) the rest, is in a thousand pieces in a bucket to be wet down and start all over again. The base is reclaimed Australian hardwood.

Measurements including stand 13.5w x 36h x 17cm deep. Base 13.5w  x 7.5h x 9.5cm deep.
