Additional Information

A Family of Asian ElephantsThis family group of elephants all gathered around protecting and caring for the baby of the group.

Limited Edition Print of (25) fine art photograph by Elizabeth McNamee.

The Asian elephant is considered to be a single species and has declined by an estimated 50 percent over the past 75 years, it is estimated 20,000 to 40,000 are left in the wild.  Asian elephants have adapted to surviving on resources that vary based on the area. The primary threat to elephants is the loss and fragmentation of forests.  Commercial timber plantations, agriculture, logging and palm oil plantations continue to encroach on and replace natural forest.

Did you Know?  Geneticists have sketched out the woolly mammoth’s family tree using ancient DNA found preserved in Siberia. The extinct beasts are more closely related to Asian elephants than to African elephants and the three species diverged within a surprisingly short period of time.  Elephants can sing! They use extremely low, ultrasound frequencies not perceptible for human ears. They sing when they want to keep the herd together and looking for mates.

These Fine art Giclee Prints are printed using archival pigment inks and made using 100% cotton, museum grade, archival quality 330gsm paper with an ultra-smooth finish which is acid free with ph buffering for superb durability and print stability.  It has a bright white surface that delivers a high D-max and wide colour gamut suitable for fine art prints with a print life of at least 75 years if cared for and displayed correctly. It is recommended that these prints are professionally framed.

All are under copyright.  They are original photographs by the artist.  They are offered in limited edition of 25 per print size, all are signed on the front and numbered.  They are hand signed and numbered on the back and come with a certificate of authenticity.  These prints are supplied unframed and without a mat. They are posted in a thick protective tube rolled within Archival quality photo tissue paper for protection.  All purchases of these fine art photographic works are printed.
