Come Fly With Me by Rebecca Warr

This artwork was inspired by all the beautiful flora that I have seen during Spring. It is very different to my usual style where I can be quite meticulous with detail and accuracy. This painting was a way to express a more spontaneous approach using many vibrant colours and overlapping layers to create an impasto surface texture. Following this, butterfly silhouettes were added with white to create a sense of shape and contrast. While producing this piece, I visited many different gardens and found myself getting lost in the detail and colour that Spring creates.
