FLORAL ROAD (diptych) by Carita Farrer Spencer

2 original artworks acrylic on 420gsm canvas panels framed in Tasmanian Oak with ebony stain.

Carita’s highly original artwork is now attracting many collectors who are drawn to her unique use of edible colour palettes, intuitive mark making and signature illustrative twist.

“This artwork was inspired by a magnificent bouquet from iconic Melbourne florists ‘Flowers by the Road Stall’. I was transported, lost into the deep, delicious and dramatic blooms. A reminder that life is surprising, epic and fragile. As I watched the flowers slowly fade over the coming days I felt compelled to immortalise them in paint.

I decided to go quite large and paint across two panels simultaneously so as to accentuate and celebrate and imitate mother nature’s lushness and extravagance.”
