‘Floral Series No.1’ Original Artwork by Joanna Greenwood is an exploration into mixed media and vibrant colour. This piece was inspired by the brilliant reds of the waratah and the colours reflected in the dried lotus pods in this bouquet. Several layers of medium were applied to this piece to create texture and the most vibrant colours were applied last to build depth. The cotton rag paper added to the movement of the pastels, as did the gesso. It creates the feeling you could reach out and touch the curling floral stems of the waratah and feel the dips in the dried seed heads of the lotus pod. This piece is unframed, signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The paper is a warm-white cotton rag with a deckled edge.
