Flying Off the Handle by Sue Hill – Boys having fun in a creek with a swing from an overhead tree. This acrylic landscape is in portrait format and depicts three boys playing in a shallow creek from a birds-eye or aerial perspective.   They have found a roughly-made swing hanging from a tree and are taking turns to swing out into the water.   In the background is a sandy area with tufts of wild grass growing and behind that bushland.   The foreground has thick tree roots and small shrubs seen in dappled shade. The inspiration for the painting is taken from a photo taken on a walk at Enoggera creek with Sue’s grandchildren.

This narrative painting is in an Impressionist style.  The sides are painted black and it is signed on the back and wired ready to hang.
