The hummingbird has always been one of my favourites.

There’s something about the lightness and etherial beauty that I just love.

I tried to capture the movement in the wings by using a gold wave origami paper as highlights, and set this beauty against a background of mottled dark blues, framing around the hummingbird in a slightly lighter variant.

This piece is framed in Blackwood stain timber floating frame and ready to hang.
