Fog drapes the scorched alpine plateau of Devils’ Gullet in northwest Tasmania, casting a quiet, haunting presence over the wild landscape. Muted greys and misty blues, burnished reds, olive green and charcoal earth tones layer the scene with a subdued, moody palette. The aftermath of fire lingers in the bare, twisted forms of alpine vegetation, softened only by mist that veils the scene.

This work was featured in the artist’s 2025 solo exhibition, Untamed Tasmania – The Wild Nature Heart of Our Island, held at the prestigious Wilderness Gallery in Cradle Mountain. It captures a fleeting moment in the ever-changing wilderness — a tribute to the quiet resilience and raw beauty of Tasmania’s wild heart.
