Additional Information

Food Stories II – This artist book, by Sara Valentino, is a variation on the original Food Stories Artist Book. This is an artist book with 10 different images representing Italy and Italian food (espresso and spaghetti), Greece – in this case Mykonos – and Greek food (souvlaki and rice stuffed tomatoes) and the UK and typical English food (chips and scones). Colour is either printed or selectively added using watercolour. It is still a nod to her Italian heritage but also acknowledges other influences such as marrying into a Greek family and growing up in Australia under British influence. Food is still a focus as food brings people together in many cultures.

This is a series of reduction lino prints that symbolically represent each of the locations of Italy, Greece and the UK as well as a series of reduction lino prints enhanced with watercolours to highlight specific characteristics of the chosen foods associated with each location.
The book is hand made using proper book binding cloth and all the prints are created on archival paper with oil based inks.
The book can be hung for display. The closed book measures 16 x 16cm. The open book measures 42 x 85cm.

A certificate of authenticity is supplied.
