Footsteps Lost in Time’s Dust by Elise Judd

This painting is inspired by the untold stories of women from Australian history.

The single female figure stares out of the painting, looking as if she wants to engage in a conversation with us and tell us her story.  Her only friend in this work is the dingo that walks with her.

Footsteps Lost in Time’s Dust

Fragments painted, torn and sewn,

A story of resilience, silently grown.

Australia’s past, layered and deep,

Whispers of voices the dust can’t keep.

A lone woman strides, the dingo near,

Survival’s song, both faint and clear.

Connection lingers, loss takes its toll,

Yet echoes of strength weave through the whole.

Scattered like dust, their stories remain,

Etched in the land, through struggle and pain.

An enduring tribute, tender yet vast,

Footsteps of courage, shadows of the past.

As my background in partly in Textiles, I have made this piece as a wall hanging which means that it will come to you rolled in a tube with the poles included. (This makes the actual dimension 110 wide, you could always decided to have it stretched onto a canvas if you prefer ) If you are using the poles to hang the work it will give a lovely effect with the picture hanging slightly off the wall and the effect of the shadows make can be a great visual addition.

This is a very adaptable piece of work as it comes with multiple hanging options and includes poles and D-rings on attachment fabric (optional to use). It is lightweight, making it easy to get upstairs and move around.

I have added a studio photo to help you see the size of the pieces.

This piece is made in acrylic, charcoal and stitching.
