Foreboding is inspired by the pulp magazine covers of the 1930s and 1940s and I have added a raven, a symbol of bad luck and doom. The woman is dressed like Little Red Riding Hood and when she hears a raven in the moonlit forest she is overcome by foreboding that evil will befall her.
I am Jane Ianniello, a well-known Brisbane artist and I have been finalist for all the major prizes for the past few years – Lethbridge 10,000, Rotary Art Spectacular, Moreton Bay Art Awards, Noosa Art Award, Stanthorpe Art Prize.
