This sculptural vase is part of a series based around the landscapes, both coastal and outback, we enjoy in Australia.  For me, the contrasts of light, colour and texture evoke a feeling of our Australian Landscapes,

Techniques used include wheelthrowing with a combination of fine porcelain, coloured porcelain and textured terracotta clays.  The porcelain surface has been water etched to give a feeling of coastal landscapes. It is more a sculptural form than a vase, as although the interior has a blue glaze, due to the unglazed exterior surface it is not suitable as a water container.

From The Outback To The Sea is an original, ceramic sculptural vase.
