Funky Posy by Rosemary Legat – Acrylic Paint, Acrylic Ink and Collage.

I developed one of my wacky, colourful, intuitive bases into this unique abstract floral still life flower arrangement.

The detail was built up over many layers of applying paint, ink, markings and collage.

I enjoy designing and creating my own collage papers (especially on acid free tissue paper) but I also love the quirkiness of using a mixture of different papers (eg magazines, she music, pages from old novels, old comic book pages, different times from ephemera packets).

The cornucopia of different materials used can not be seen from afar however your eyes will feast on the detail and interest when up close.

There is a slight sheen to Funky Posy due to the medium I applied all over the surface before varnishing.  (Unfortunately that slight sheen can ge a little bothersome when you are trying to photograph a painting…especially when photographing is not my forte).

This zany and highly textured creation would add interest and a pop of subdued colour to your chosen space.

I have wrapped the painting around the edges. It is ready to hang however the art collector could decide to add an external frame.

Signed on the front.
