Gatherings’ Natural toned abstract figurative art by Marguerite Bonwick

Creating this spontaneous Abstract expressionist painting I used the ‘Action Painting’ method. Where I allow my subconscious to speak to me. I enjoy watching the evolution of the artwork and the story it has to tell through the act of applying colour and of painting.

This abstract expressionist piece, ‘Gatherings”, was created using my own technique of laying down colours and then using my gift of Pareidolia to find human formations within the seemingly abstract painting. I usually find figures in my work without trying. I think this is due to my interest in life drawing and the human form.

Gatherings: Humans gathering and connecting from the ground up. Its primal and natural for us to seek some form of human connection and belonging here on Earth.

With its warm natural palette and loose gestural lines, it would be an interesting addition to any room adding visual interest as well as being a thought-provoking conversation piece.
