Inspired by Sydney Nolan’s Ned Kelly design. The helmet head presents a metal copper oxide look. The body features bands of brightly-coloured glazes.
Research has shown sculptures to provide higher emotional support than paintings. Unlike paintings which are limited to two dimensions, the sculpture reflects life in three-dimensional space. Sculpture inhabits the space shared by the viewer. Sculptures are tactile, one can touch them and feel their texture, weight and shape. The sculpture has a surprise function that can trigger pleasant psychological arousal resulting in a deeply satisfying and genuinely invigorating aesthetic experience.
