Good for the Garden – by Alanah Jarvis

This painting is currently being featured in an exhibition at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show & is therefore unavailable for sale.

This painting pays tribute to and acknowledges the Australia’s First People throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community.

Rain is so many things to different people, it has spiritual meaning, can be the ideal excuse to wrap yourself in a blanket with a mug of your favourite drink, or for my grandmother, it was a time to get into the garden. It can be an inconvenience or something to dance in.

Rain can be devasting or something to celebrate and will always play an essential role in our existence which is simply fascinating. I love watching the rain dancing on the ocean’s surface from underwater and it is always an added bonus when it rains after being out on the boat so you don’t have to wash it!
This painting comes unframed but is framed in some photos to show viewer what this would look like.
