Acrylic on Canvas.

Framed in timber and ready to hang

The ancient waterway winds and stretches through the traditional land of the Coodgingburra people of the Bundjalung  Nation.

Threading it’s bountiful waters relentlessly through time eternal, shaping, forming and fashioning a wonderous landscape through the fertile imagination of the spirits of the ‘Dreamtime’. The power and the nourishment upon the land by the healing waters of the creek has provided the essential elements for life in this timeless land.

A grateful people dwelt by its sculpted hills, valleys and plains seeking both shelter, providence and safety from the natural threats that emerge from around, above and beside them.

The man made walls are a recent event in geological time, built from the dripping perspiration and toil from those that have crossed the sea to find their sanctuary within the realm of the Bundjalung Nation.

Scattered within the low valleys and shallow plains lie the evidence of a far more enduring culture. The sacred sites, the secret women’s places, the middens, the relics of a proud people give testimony to an enduring attachment to their sacred lands.

…. And now a place of great healing will dominate this giving, accommodating, bountiful landscape. The land, the surrounds are once again a vital communal meeting place- a healing place!
