Gum Tree Cottage is an old mill home built by the first settlers. I was inspired by its characteristic charm and the beautiful colors of the surrounding gardens, wildflowers and trees. The afternoon light created interesting shadows adding contrast to the subject.  A textured landscape, spontaneously rendered in ‘alla prima’ style, using a palette knife.

Artist quality oil paint on professional grade stretched canvas. The sides are 4cm thick and are painted consistent with the color scheme of the subject.
