Hamilton Island Race week attracts yachts from across Australia, to sail in the beautiful tropical climate of the Whitsunday islands during Australians winter in August.

Crews race or just cruise amongst the islands as the humpback whales birth the new calves and mating occurs before the long swim back to Antarctic waters.
This is the view behind our chartered yacht several years ago.

The Races are divided into several classes according to the performance data for each yachts design. some crews are happy to just take part and leave the racing to others.
There’s nothing wrong with sailing around the course taking in the beautiful scenery and watching the whales broaching  while enjoying the company of friends and a quite drink in the warm Queensland sun.
