A slightly blurred veneer, like one achieved through a camera lens, adds an extra layer of meaning to this cityscape piece. “My main objective with this painting is to create the atmosphere or energy of the night, with city lights and Opera house in the distance and the majestic Sydney harbour bridge dominating the composition. With a simplified painting style yet still photo realistic, I feel it is important to paint with range of textures to suggest it is actually a painting, not a photograph – let’s celebrate paint.”
