Heart and Harmony by Debra Duffy

This artwork is an abstract original using the contrasting textures of acrylic paint, oil stick and artist markers. My inspiration comes from living on the doorstep to the Blue Mountains NSW and being surrounded by enchanting forests filled with natures best. ‘Heart and Harmony’ is part of my gum leaves and blossoms study, where I aim combine elements of natural beauty with a touch of whimsy and capturing not just the visual beauty, but the feeling of being immersed- surrounded by layered textures, subtle movements and patterns that highlight the organic and raw beauty of gum trees filled with trailing leaves and native blossoms. My aim was to use a bold gum tree green background that was to create a vibrant contrast against the rich red blossoms, pink and blush tones.
