Additional Information

High Plains by Meg Shaw – This painting is a contemporary landscape, measuring approximately 98 x 60cm.

‘High Plains’ has been painted on a handmade, hand-stretched canvas and is framed in repurposed Merbau timber.

A variety of brushes were used to create this piece, as well as dabbing rags and fingers. The medium is Australian made, environmentally friendly acrylics. On completion, the painting has been sprayed with several layers of protective finish.

‘High Plains’ was inspired by remembered images of Mount Jaithmathangs (Eastern Highlands, Victoria). I have many happy memories of hiking in this area with my family, viewing rugged rock formations, wildlife, spiky grasses, beautiful Snow Gums and wildflowers. The panoramic views of fiery sunsets and misty, atmospheric pockets below, remain in my memory as stunning, environmental theatre.

‘High Plains’ was painted with respect to indigenous groups who share this beautiful high plains area – Bidawal, Dhudhuroa, Gunai–Kurnai and Nindi–Ngudjam Ngarigu Monero.

The photos show the finished painting, stretched canvas, close-ups, in situ, handmade frame finally, the early stage of ‘High Plains’. Please note: the situ photos are virtual and are intended to show what the painting might look like hanging on a wall.

‘High Plains’ will be posted to you via Auspost or a reliable courier service. It will be packed in a crate, wrapped in recycled bubble wrap and packed in recycled cardboard. As I live in rural Tasmania now,  please allow a little more time for delivery. Thank you.
