Home Among the Gum Trees 3 by Michael Cartwright

A charming old country home contrasts against a backdrop of gum trees in the beautiful countryside of south Western Australia. I was inspired by the characteristic charm of the old home, the surrounding trees, grazing sheep and the hint of smoke from the rooftop chimney which let’s us know that someone is home.

A textured landscape spontaneously painted using a combination of brush and palette knife. Artist quality oil paint on professional grade stretched canvas. The sides are 4cm thick and are painted consistent with the color scheme of the subject.
