Home in the Hills 2 by Michael Cartwright

The afternoon light shines through the trees and across the land. A charming old farmhouse is nestled among surrounding fruit trees and bushes. I was inspired by the decorative patterns of light,shade and broken color throughout the scene. The location is the beautiful countryside of Mount Shadforth, Denmark, Western Australia.

A moderately textured landscape, spontaneously painted in an impressionist style, using a combination of brush and palette knife. Artist quality oil paint on professional grade stretched canvas. The sides are 4cm thick and are painted consistent with the color scheme of the subject.
