Additional Information

Howling at the Moon by Mandy McGuire –  is a small intimate assemblage of found objects that the artist considers precious and meaningful. The objects were collected from different locations in Queensland, including remote areas in the far west. The Lino, for instance, is collected from an old house at the township of Windorah. The skull, which is most likely that of a feral cat, represents the wolf spirit while the bosom-like shell represents the moon. The artwork is intended to appear as if it is a museum specimen – something precious and culturally significant. This artwork was part of a solo exhibition by the artist in 2023 entitled Quietude is a Place. Professionally framed.
