I Swam With My Eyes Open Me by Rebecca Koerting –

Drawing inspiration from nature, this piece was created to capture the energy and form of the hidden Australian coral reefs. The organic and free flowing shapes and colour combinations work together to build a captivating abstraction of an immersed world.

The shapes and colours in her artworks compose a story belonging to the reefs and their structure. The artworks characterise the fluid shapes and the imperfect way that reefs grow to become beautiful artforms in themselves.

Rebecca’s pieces are interpretations of natural curves and vibrant colours of some of Australia’s most unique corals. The seducing hues draw you into the story of the artwork – a subtle reminder of the beauty that lies beneath the ocean’s surface – the amazing colours that exist under all of the oceans blue.
