Jacaranda Dreaming by Helen Stephens

Professional quality acrylic paints, mediums and varnishes with a professional quality stretched canvas. This artwork is framed in a Victorian Ash natural wood float frame with a bees wax rub for protection.

Original, modern day artwork inspired by Jacaranda trees in full flower around the lake in the grounds of the University of Queensland, St Lucia, Brisbane, Qld.

My paintings are very much my own style and interpretation of actual scenes that have caught my eye. They are not meant to be realistic, but you will always recognise what I have created. It is not abstract because the story is already painted into the artwork for you to love.

Apparently the jacaranda represents wisdom, wealth, good luck and rebirth. There is a lot to love about these glorious trees when they all bloom at the same time. Thanks to our previous generations who planted them throughout our countryside and cities, their beauty is there for all to see.
