Jadeite (Nature’s Form Series) by Julia Chuquis

While walking through a conservation park near my studio, looking to remove distractions and reflect on all the love in my life (so grateful), the sun glistened on a stone like diamonds and I was instantly inspired to create the “Nature’s Form Series”.
My mind wondered to all the precious stones and minerals that the earth creates under rare circumstances. How specific events need to occur for it to manifest into its strong uniqueness that lasts forever. How similar love can be.

One of two distinct minerals commonly known as jade, jadeite is the rarer and harder variety. Rich emerald-green jadeite, known as “imperial jade,” is also the most highly valued.

This is a unique and original piece. Artwork was created using high quality artist acrylic paint, oil pastels, charcoal, alternating tools, spatula and brush and combining mediums to create multiple textures and layers. Finished in a satin varnish on stretched canvas ready to hang. Signed certificate of authenticity. Back of canvas professionally finished.

Please note all images are taken before the varnish (to reduce reflection). The artwork is then finished in two coats of a satin varnish for protection.
