Jazz x 2 by Rosemary Legat – Acrylic paint, acrylic ink and spray paint on two 300gsm watercolour paper sheet

This emotive duo, of the lovely Art of Flow model Jazz Luna, started with the selection of two of my intuitive wildling bases.

Wildlings are a spontaneous expression of the artist who creates them.  They are pure and true. Often evolve over time and through the layering process become rich and meaningful works of art in due course.

Both bases have many intuitive layers of paint, marking and spray paint stencilling.  Stencils use were designed and created by myself (except for two mandala patterned stencils).

Rather than lightly sketching the portraits over the bases then painting them, I used negative space painting along with painting shadows, reflected on the two photos I was using as reference material, over the bases until each portrait of Jazz revealed herself.

Each portrait 29.5cm (W) x 42cm (H) = total dimensions of 59cm (W) x 42cm (H)

Both signed on the front and require framing to hang.

My art gallery photos include examples of how this serene pair could look framed and hung.

Please check dimensions as in situ examples are for display purposes only and may be to scale.
