This painting was inspired by a trip to Northern Australia into the Kakadu, Arnhem Land and Kimberley areas.

A long awaited dream was to visit and feel a part of Australia’s magnificent cultural native land in the north. To emerse myself in the history and vibrant colours of these areas and to try to capture that feeling on my canvas.
I marvelled at the range of jewelled colours the sun picked up, the massive rock features and the wonderful reflections on the tranquil waters of the gorge. I hope you enjoy my depiction. I have spent many weeks working in my studio still immersed in the experience as I painted.
