Ever since I was child, I have had a fascination with the ocean’s horizon. It always felt so far away and enticing. Kiama Colours is one of my explorations of this fascination. When I took this photograph, I slowed the shutter so that the water would have a milky feel to it. To complete this artwork, I wanted to create something other worldly where the sunset colours were not quite familiar. To accentuate the soft clouds from the long exposure, I then stretched Kiama Colours to make it that little bit more other worldly.
Kiama Colours is part of the Water Related Nature series.
The artwork is printed on Chromaluxe premium metal for a contemporary look and feel. John feels that the medium best suits his artworks. The artwork is backed by a floating hanger system. This allows the artwork appears to float off the wall.
