I’ve always admired the work of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque; they used multiple vantage points to fracture images into geometric forms. The cubism movement was one of the most groundbreaking of the early-20th century leading almost directly to experiments with non-representation by many different artists. Artists working in the Cubist style went on to incorporate elements of collage and popular culture into their paintings and to experiment with sculpture.

So, I have been capturing the essence of Cubism; enjoying playing with a reality that is fragmented and overlapping, suggesting a fourth dimension – that space and form are inextricably bound.

I have chosen subject matters that represent what we do in our day to day lives. Here we have two people snuggling up for kisses and cuddles.

Acrylic paint and collage on plywood base, finished in a satin varnish (please note images are taken before the varnish to reduce reflection).
