Kookaburra Blue by Rosemary Legat – Traditionally, silhouette artwork has a very crisp look however Kookaburra Blue and Kookaburra Chick (listed separately) have more of a organic feel and look which is more my style.

Acrylic paint, spray paint and acrylic ink on 300gsm paper.

Both of these pieces started with similar layered intuitive bases, followed by blind contour drawing, painting, glazing.  With Kookaburra Blue I created two silhouette style birds perched on their branches with the touch of the morning sky peeking through withs its soft blue hue.

Framing required for Kookaburra Blue to hang therefore my art galley includes examples of how this piece could look framed and hung.
