Kookaburra Chats by Sam Askin

There is nothing more iconic than the sound of a kookaburra laugh. More often than the laugh, however, they chatter and “yell” at one another in the early mornings and late afternoons. One of their favourite hangouts is on the top of the light poles in my street, where they form their own neighbourhood watch and have their dily debrief. It’s always humorous to watch their antics, and for me, such a peaceful part of living in Australia. I was lucky enough to capture these guys in the middle of conducting their afternoon business and had to bring it to life!
