Original acrylic painting on stretched canvas by emerging artist Julia Mackie.

This painting simply celebrates a women’s moment of deep contemplation. It’s interesting because of the way the skin has been depicted here in hues of blues and reds, yet done in a realistic style, so her skin appears luminescent. The contrast between the realism and bold colour choices for hair and clothing give the painting an evocative and contemporary feel. One of my favourite works. This painting pairs very well with another piece of mine ‘The knowing’.
