Additional Information

La Rosa by Rosemary Legat – I have wanted to create a Frida Kahlo inspired portrait piece for a while now.  To start I selected one of my intuitively painted wildlings to form the base of this artwork.  I wanted to keep this piece bright with a happy and light feel.

(Wildlings are a spontaneous expressions of the artist who creates them. They often evolve over time and through the layering process become rich with detail and depth.)

Acrylic paint, acrylic ink, spray paint, water colour crayons, ephemera, collage pieces and stencils on 300gsm paper.  I enjoy the challenge of creating and making my own stencils.

I painted La Rosa’s face over my wildling base then adorned her with flower ephemera and collage.  To finish this piece I added a graphic red heart then applied a wam golden glaze over specific areas.

Signed on the front and requires framing to hang.

Dimensions include a rough .05 border which can be covered during your chosen framing process or be embraced and left exposed.

My gallery photos show how La Rosa could look framed and hung.

Please check dimensions, in-situ images are for display purposes only and may not be to scale.
