Last Light of Day by Sharon Rynehart

The last light of day at the coast is always different from one day to the next. Depending on the clouds and temps, no days are alike! On a summery blue sky day it’s usually filled with soft lilac and pink hues at dusk then as the sun sets on the horizon it shifts golden orange and yellow. When it’s been a cool wet grey day with constant drizzle it shifts from white to grey which slowly gets darker and fades to black. However, the best ‘last light of day’ is when a fast moving storm rolls in over the ocean at the same time as the sun is setting – unexpected it’s quick to move across the sky, enveloping the colourful sunset and amplifying the pretty glows of light. Spectacular and domineering, the rays of last light make for an awe inspiring, breathtaking sunset, one that’s hard to forget.

This moody seascape is created with those moments in mind. A palette knife artwork on artist quality poly cotton stretched canvas, it is framed in solid Tas Oak, satin varnished, and comes with a COA.

Thank you for pausing to view “The Last Light of Day”.

NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone of my work which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space. Thank you!
