Layered Tale: Abstract Painting on Canvas
by Brendan Walsh (ColdGhost)

This original painting is a Statement Piece, it was created to give maximum impact to any room.

The work is a continuation of my current experimentation with using different techniques and tools to apply the paint. The work was created by layering paper and paint, then using Sponges, rags, plastic, scrapers, rollers, Spray Packs, in fact almost anything except brushes.

The work is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces.

The work is also a reflection of my love for gestural abstraction and combining that with my obsession with spray paint and street art.

This artwork has a textured finish created by built up layers, a visual effect mimicking the look you would see in the street where this effect is created over time on Graffiti Walls & Advertising Spaces, Insitu examples are not to scale.

The work comes on a stretched canvas and is ready to hang.
