This painting is inspired by the colourful cliff south of Lennox Head, one of my favourite beach locations.
It is a larger version of a smaller study that I painted previously.
I loved the shape and colour of the orange cliff face and the way it has an almost abstract effect.
I used a palette knife to create lots of texture, especially in the glowing orange face of the cliff. I have exaggerated the colours. I recently touched up the breaking wave to give it more detail and energy and I am happy with the effect.
The sides of the canvas are painted to match the painting, varnished and it is ready to hang with a cord on the back.
