Let Me Think About It by Elise Judd

This painting is inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood particularly the silent film era.  The stories of the women of that time are so inspiring and inspirational.  This particular painting shows a women of her time when it was said a women “didn’t need dialogue we had faces”.  Interesting to think how much has changed in 100 years.

As my background in partly in Textiles, therefore I have made this piece as a wall hanging which means that it will come to you rolled in a tube with the poles included. (This makes the actual dimension 110cm wide, you could always decided to have it stretched onto a canvas if you prefer that look.)  I have used quite a limited palette, this is to reflect the black and white films of the time and also the old sepia photos.

As the work hangs like a wall hanging you get the added shadows of this piece bouncing from the wall and the side lines will slightly curl inwards giving it a lovely organic feel.

If this pose looks familiar to you, it is because I have been inspired by the painting of “Clementine” by Henri Lehmann (1845)

This piece is done in acrylic and charcoal.  It has been sealed and varnish for its protection.
