Additional Information

“Letters from Autumn” by Marijke Lambregtse is a poetic exploration of memory, transformation and the quiet wisdom of nature. At the heart of the piece lies the symbolic presence of mushrooms—humble, often overlooked organisms that speak to cycles of decay and renewal.

They are a favorite recurrence in her latest works as a symbol for rebirth, spiritual growth and are vital to the ecosystems around the world, they are little environmental heroes! Through mycelium, mushrooms help other plants share nutrients and communicate through chemical signals. Quiet achievers!

The “letters” in this piece are metaphoric. Autumn, with its fading golds and reds, becomes a season of reflection and communication and can remind us that beauty is always there around us. When little we used to gather beautiful leaves, mosses and mushrooms to make dioramas during autumn . Going to look for the special red mushroom was one of the highlights.

This work invites the viewer to slow down and decode the subtle language of the forest floor. “Letters from Autumn” is not just about what is visible, but about what is felt: the comfort of cycles, and the quiet invitation to find meaning.

This original painting has been painted on a recycled canvas made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. It is archival and sustainable and comes ready to hang, varnished, initialed at the front and signed on the back with a certificate of authenticity stamp
