Light Dance by Bruce Peebles

Light Dance is inspired by the reef coves and tidal pools along the Great Barrier Reef — places Bruce visits often, where each visit reveals a new play of colour and light. As the sun begins to set, the water becomes alive with reflections — fiery golds, deep crimsons, and vibrant blues shifting and merging in a continuous dance of light.

This painting captures that fleeting moment when the day’s last light transforms the sea into liquid colour — where sunlight glows across the surface and ripples of warmth and shadow weave together like music on water. The hues move from radiant amber and coral to indigo and ultramarine, evoking the ocean’s ever-changing depth and brilliance.

Through textured layers and translucent brushwork, Light Dance reflects the way light can both illuminate and soften — bringing a sense of warmth, stillness, and connection to nature.

Created as statement wall art, it brings the atmosphere of the coast at sunset into an interior space — a reminder of the beauty found in movement, reflection, and the quiet rhythm of the sea.
