Light of my Life by Astrid Dahl

This painting is about the things we hold dear.  Children, friends and our fur children. These living beings gives us endless love and pleasure and also much needed laughter. They are the light that show us the way to a fulfilled life. I once had a wild pigeon that befriended me and we lived together in the same house for 8 years. I called her Mama Bird as she was always trying to be a mama but because she had no mate, the eggs she laid never got fertilized. So I considered her to be a light in my life as she made me laugh by landing on my head and always had breakfast with me.

The materials used are – texture Gel, acrylic inks, acrylic paints and oil paints. The acrylic paint is always the first layer before the final layer of oil paint.

This art work was painted with high quality canvas on a wooden stretcher frame. It was then varnished with a high quality artist varnish.

There are attachments that enable the painting to be immediately hung.
