Loch Walk by Shirley Dougan – This is an original artwork of a Loch in Scotland

I was staying with a friend in Ballachulish in the Scottish Highlands It’s sited at the mouth of Loch Leven and we walked along part of.

It was a pretty easy walk, being quite flat on the parts that we were walking. There were good views of the hills further along the loch.

I love Scotland and this was my first stop on a two week visit there, before going south to England.

In all my artworks, Golden brand acrylic paints are my choice. I love their highly-pigmented colours.

I have used a gloss varnish (over an isolation coat, which means that the varnish can be removed without damage to the paint) to enhance the colours even more.

The sides of the canvas are painted black.
