Lockdown Abstract

Street Abstract Urban Art mixed media Collage Painting.

This original artwork is made using Recycled Street Posters and takes it’s inspiration from Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces. The work is also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint.

Once I have collected the paper off the walls of Sydney streets, the chunks are then soaked and separated. The revealing coloured layers then organically influence the colour palette i will be working with, placing them together like a giant jigsaw puzzle.

The collage surface is then built up with multiple layers of recycled paper and then overlayed with hits of Acrylic Paint, Paint Pents, Sugar Spray Packs, Stencils & Rollers

The Painting comes Framed and ready to hang and it is mounted under a clear acrylic sheet.

This artwork has a textured finish created by built up layers, paint splatters and torn paper, a visual effect mimicking the look you would see in the street where this effect is created over time on Graffiti Walls & Advertising Spaces. These imperfections are part of the overall look and feel of the finished work.
