Looking out my Backdoor by James Congdon – I painted this picture after just moving into to my small apartment. It took some motivating on my part to actually paint, as id been in the process of moving and I felt quite disorientated. Funny the feeling you have after staying somewhere for so long then moving into a completely new environment. Im still searching for the contented homely feeling I would have liked to have at my other place but never really found it…my place now is a lot more promising and I’ll settle in with time. This painting was painted on nearly the first day I moved into my new apartment after having creative blocks for maybe a year or more…no one believes me…I have always painted images with different perspective so living in an apartment with a balcony will provide good material for many paintings…I do interiors so it will work in quite well for that.
