“Magic” by Teresa Franks – Is an original airbrushed ink painting on MDF Board in a series of three (Mystery, Magic and Alchemy) which feature beautiful women and their spirit protectors.

“In my childhood and teens, I was not always protected. This made me feel lost, unworthy and often-times ugly. “Mystery”, “Magic” and “Alchemy” were created to not only show that you are beautiful no matter your colour or place in life, but also to let you know that we are always protected by spirit animals – you just have to pay attention.”

“Magic” is an airbrushed painting which took many days and hours to create with ink on MDF Board. Each fold, feather and facial embellishment were painted separately with love and intention. Red signifies life force energy, passion and courage. Blue signifies peace, serenity, and connection to the divine while yellow signifies hope, happiness, and optimism. She is in a dark forest, but it is nothing to fear. Her totem, the frogmouth, reminds us that we are never alone, especially during times when we feel lonely, he tells us that we are part of everything that surrounds us, including the wilderness. Spirit is watching. So she is being led out of the darkness of the forest (her shadow life) and is being led to a place of peace with optimism and hope into a much safer world of loyalty and monogamy – she is able to be herself without compromise.
