An integral part of the coastal landscape, the mangrove fern works to reduce erosion while filtering nutrients and sediment, able to tolerate exposure to high levels of salinity. Found from Northern New South Wales and stretching along the coast to Northern Western Australia the mangrove fern provides an important refuge for many estuarine inhabitants.

‘Mangrove Fern Moment I’ has been created with a deep palette inspired by the dense wetland habitat in which it is found. When hung alongside its sister piece ‘Walking Stick Palm Moment II’, ‘Mangrove Fern Moment I’ creates a bold and contemplative landscape of the shadowy forest understory.
